Working from home is a new thing for so many people going into this new season. Here are some things that our team of graphic and web designers does to stay productive at home!

 Get Dressed!

But why? I’m home – who am I getting dressed for? Well yourself, obviously! Getting out of your comfortable jammies helps to shift your mentality from, “I can nap at any time” to “I’m here until 5PM and I’m not finished yet!”

Set Your Space

Whether you have an office or just a kitchen table, it’s important to have a space that is designated for work. Set yourself up with all of your favorites; coffee, your laptop and your favorite playlist. At the end of the day – you unplug and leave your workspace.

Make a Schedule

It’s easy to snooze that 9AM alarm but the best way to avoid procrastination is by setting a schedule and sticking to it. Plan a lunch and some breaks – set time aside for when you feel most productive during the day so you know exactly what your day will look like. (5PM should say, “unplug and unwind”)

Protect Your Time

Just because work is always there when you’re at home does not mean you should not take care of yourself. In a time of uncertainty, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with anxiety. Practice self-care, don’t skip your lunch, end your job at 5PM – Spend time with your family, take some walks, pick up a new hobby or read that book that’s been sitting on the coffee table for months.

Stay Connected With Your Team

Your company culture is key – during this season of working remote your best tool is to over communicate and to check-in with your coworkers. Communicate when you leave your space because during a time of separation – it’s always easier to assume. Also, check in with your team to let them know you’re thinking about them.
